This is a half-keyboard key- punched calculator, probably from 1959/60. It was manufactured in the UK by the BELL PUNCH Company (established 1878). This is a "Sterling" model, with the right column for "farthing", the next for "Penny" ( showing 0 to 11), the 3rd and 4th columns for "shilling" and the next 5 for "sterling". A Penny was divided into 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 Farthing, 12 Pennies give a Shilling, and 20 Shilling a Pound Sterling. Easy, isn't it! | Original Image |
