| A wire delay line (used for instance in the Olivetti Programma 205 computer): a piezo (or magneto-restrictive) actuator produces a torsional impuls on the wire which travels along to be read at the end and re-injected if needed. This was the technology of former cache memory (holding up to a couple of thousands of bits). | |
